We are two Penang-born, third-generation Teochew brothers who grew up eating what this city eats. Teow Kee is the bowl we wished existed, Teochew at heart, modern in the kitchen, slow in the way that matters.

Teow Kee was born and raised in Penang. It draws from Teochew heritage, and from the warmth and food memory of the city itself.

The Teochew people have a stubbornness about beef, a sensitivity to fire, and a refusal to compromise on flavour.

Our Story

我们的故事

Teowkee was born in Penang. The roots are Teochew, the soul is this city, built on its people, its warmth, and its food memory. Two third-generation Teochew founders, both Penang-born, opened this brand with years of kitchen and operating experience between them.

We hand-cut imported Australian beef every day. We slow-simmer beef-bone broth for hours. From cut to broth to plating, every step is done seriously. There is no over-packaged story here, just patience, fire, and a bowl built with intent.
